Basically christmas for psych rock experimental fans, I say this since it’s a completely once a year lineup that you may never see again in your entire life, Damo Suzuki (no stranger to Berlin, previously, previouslyer) headlines HBC for a massive night where every band on the bill is fucking stupendous. Really.
Backing up Herr Suzuki during his set will be a band that if you’ve ever paid any attention to Sydney alt-country/indie-rock will need no introduction. The Holy Soul have backed Suzuki on many of his southern tours and have also released an album together in 2010. This is the first time that they’ll be playing together in Europe.
Camera (previously) are second on the lineup, a band that if you’re paying any attention at all to what’s going on in Berlin at the moment, you’ll know that they’re definitely a band to watch. They’re going to be joined on the night by two of their musical heroes, one of them namely Dieter Moebius, the other is a complete secret only to be revealed on the night. Mysterious!
Last but absolutely not least, italian kraut-rock experimental act Squadra Omega (previously) are finally back, after their massive show here at White Trash at the beginning of the year, there’s been a bunch of people talking about them and a bunch more people who missed them the first time wishing that they had a second chance. A mystical group of musical labyrinth designers, they throw back a bit to Bitches Brew era Miles Davis and other early jazz experimentalists. Crazy stuff that knows exactly what it is, check out the albums for free here: http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=creator%3A%22Squadra+Omega%22
